South Shore sailing - Wednesday, July 08, 2009
FYI The northshore (Barbers Point) is the designated windsurfing location for Moraine State Park (Lake Arther). During the summer, forcast North winds has a tendency to create a windshadow or blocks light breezes from reaching the shore making sailing off the beach difficult. A lot of people tend to sail from the south shore of the lake when these winds are forcast.
Windsurfing Clinics

We will be posting more lesson or clinic related information with Stu.  He is the reigning freestyle champ at the LA.  Don't look for him the third weekend this June at the LA as he is aiming at the box at the Cape Cod Freestyle Competition.

Nonetheless, use the Contact Us form or Forums post to inquire about the local and distant clinic schedules by Stu.

Novice windriders are especially welcomed!

Searching for our Windsurf PA/PAW website has just gotten easier - Monday, June 26, 2006

It's nice to have a key phrase that can bring your desired site up in no time.  And we have it now!  Among others, the "WindsurfPA" key phrase is the quick way to get here, to our pages.

Of course, you can still use the website address, or the Featured Websites list on the hosting www.myCommunityHost.com portal but thanks to the continuous support and marketing efforts of the folks behind the scenes the site is now more readily available from anywhere.

GOTIT-Building a large rig
Posted: 06 Jun 06 10:42 AM

I just got a 2005 Windwing Formula Race 10.0 that calls for a 520/33 mast and a mid/max 272-277 boom and found out that I landed just a notch outside of aluminum boom range.

Good or bad, I am now shopping for the pieces to build a large rig.  The manufacturer, Windwing, matches their sails with Gulftech but their masts and booms are for loaded pros and not weekend wind warriors, like myself.

So looking around for the pieces I found a Fiberspar 220-278 carbon boom and a 75% carbon 4800 QT mast.  If you have, however, a mast and a boom with similar specs please contact me at 724.713.0455 or use the Contact Us form on the PAW pages with your offer.

One other aspect that was brought to my attention is that buying a decent boom and stretching it all the way to the end does not make good sense as the stiffness of the boom will be compromised.  I was advised to go to the next larger size to keep things in proper balance.

Thanks for looking,

-robert
